The AIP lists airports and most special landing sites – ultralight sites and gliding sites where ultralights may also land are missing there, and so far from our list as well. This page collects 89 such sites in Germany within 250 kilometres of Holzkirchen: 35 ultralight sites, 51 gliding sites and 3 small special landing sites. For 66 of them a current source indicates that ultralights can land there; for 23 this is unclear – they are shown in yellow.
What is different here
Almost all of these are private or club sites: land only after prior notice (PPR) to the operator, who will also tell you how the circuit works and whether there is flying going on. Gliding sites often use winch launches: watch out for cables, towing traffic and the gliders' circuit. Many sites are only staffed at weekends.
Airfields with an AIP entry are on Airfields Nearby and Airfields 200 to 250 km; the ultralight airfield database is kept by the DULV (German).

How this list came about
As of 18 October 2026. The starting point was a comparison with the DULV airfield overview (Google Earth file, as of May 2017): all sites listed there with ultralight approval within 250 km that were missing from our list. Checked against the Wikipedia lists of ultralight sites (as of the 2024 ICAO chart), gliding sites (with types of operation) and airports and special landing sites (all German); five further sites were added from them. Runways, radio, PPR and phone numbers come from the sites' websites where available (October 2026), for Altstetten from the approval by the Government of Upper Bavaria; coordinates and elevations otherwise from OurAirports (public domain). Many club websites could not be read automatically – details are missing there. Yellow means: the sources contradict each other (e.g. a gliding site without ultralights in the current list) or no current confirmation was found. Not included: our own airfield, two closed sites (Landsberg-Penzing, Erpetshof), a model airfield, the airports of Memmingen, Friedrichshafen and Nuremberg and the military airfields of Manching and Niederstetten. Before every flight, the operator's information applies.
