What applies to a German ultralight
Entry is free, but under Italian law a German ultralight is initially regarded as Basico. You may only use aeroporti if the AIP Italia (AD 1.3) says "Advanced ULM: Yes" for them – and even then you ask in writing beforehand, stating type, equipment and licence. Aviosuperfici and campi di volo are private land: land only with the operator's permission. A flight plan is mandatory for crossing the border, and a transponder throughout the country.

How this list came about
As of October 2026. The "Advanced ULM" classification comes from the AIP Italia of 3 September 2026 (AD 1.3), as summarised on our page Italy with an ultralight; the AIP itself can only be viewed at ENAV after registration. Opening hours, contacts, fuel and food on the detailed cards come from the operators' websites and from pilot reports on airfield.directory (CC BY-SA 4.0); information from reports is marked as such. The small sites come from OurAirports (public domain) and are unchecked – some may be closed, others missing. Military airfields (Aviano, Rivolto, Istrana) and Treviso airport are not included. Since October 2026 the page reaches out to 280 km so that Lake Garda is included; also left out in the 250 to 280 km band are the airports of Verona-Villafranca, Venice-Tessera and Trieste, the parachuting sites Skydive Venice and Skydive Iseo, one private strip and one model airfield. The information on Garda Lake Airfield comes from the operator's website (October 2026). Before every flight, the AIP, NOTAM and the operator's information apply.
