Here I collect websites about the Aeroprakt A22 and its Rotax engine – from the manufacturer and technical and maintenance documents to flight reports. The collection grows over time; I am happy to hear about further good sources.

Manufacturer, dealers and official documents

Aeroprakt – Model A-22
The German-language manufacturer page of the European factory (Aeroprakt Manufacturing, Poland) with technical data, variants and equipment options of the A-22.
Aeroprakt – safety notices A-22 / A-22L / A-22L2
All service bulletins and airworthiness directives from the manufacturer for the A22 family. The most important link in the collection – check it before every annual inspection.
Aeroprakt – safety reports
Incidents and findings that the manufacturer passes on to operators without them having become a binding directive yet.
Aeroprakt – operating manuals
Sample flight and maintenance manuals for reference. The manual supplied with your own serial number is always binding.
Aeroprakt – representatives and dealers
Contacts for spare parts, type support and new aircraft, sorted by country.
Foxbat Aircraft – manuals and POH
The British importer Dragon Aviation provides the A-22LS flight manual with the LSA supplement and the spare parts catalogue as free PDFs – no registration needed, good for a quick look-up on the road.
Aeroprakt USA – A22LS Foxbat
The American dealer with a detailed data table for the LSA version, information on take-off and landing distances and a configuration sheet showing which equipment can be combined ex works.

Technology, maintenance and checklists

Foxbat Australia – Maintenance Information
The most extensive freely accessible technical collection on the A22LS: maintenance manuals, inspection lists, spare parts catalogues, instructions on windscreen, landing gear, tyres, brakes and paint colours, and around 20 letters of approval (LOA) for modifications.
Foxbat Australia – Service Bulletins
All bulletins for the A22L and A22LS, neatly sorted into mandatory, advisory and optional – much clearer than the plain factory list.
Foxbat Australia – Pilot Information & Checklists
Checklists, operating notes and handling tips, compiled by the Australian importer. A good supplement to the flight manual.
Foxbat Aircraft – Bulletins
The same manufacturer notices from a British perspective. Comparing two independently maintained lists is worthwhile: what is missing in one sometimes appears in the other.
Foxbat Pilot – Blog
Over 100 technical articles from practice, from flaperon hinges to towing. The blog has not been continued since 2021, but the archive remains a treasure trove.
KievProp
Representative of the Ukrainian propeller manufacturer with dimensions, blade numbers and hub variants. The in-flight adjustable propellers are explicitly designed for the Rotax 912 and 914 with hollow-shaft gearbox.

The Rotax 912 ULS

Rotax – 912 ULS / 912 S
The product page for the A22LS engine: 73.5 kW at 5800 rpm, 128 Nm at 5100 rpm, 56.6 kg with gearbox, 1352 cc. With data sheet as PDF.
Rotax – technical documentation
Operating and maintenance manuals, service bulletins, service letters and service instructions – direct from the engine manufacturer and the binding source for everything concerning the engine.
Rotax – Engine Configuration Search
Retrieve the exact factory configuration via the engine serial number. Handy when the question arises with a spare part as to which variant is actually installed.
Rotax – engine registration
If you register your engine with Rotax, you receive safety-related notices directly instead of having to look for them yourself. A one-off effort with lasting benefit.
Rotax – genuine parts
What Rotax supplies as genuine parts, how to recognise counterfeits and how the part numbers are structured.
Rotax – sales and service partners
Worldwide search for authorised distributors and maintenance organisations. Relevant because warranty and guarantee questions are tied to this network.
Franz Aircraft – Rotax distributor for Germany
Franz Aircraft Engines Vertrieb GmbH in Schechen near Rosenheim is the authorised Rotax distributor for Germany and eleven other countries, with its own maintenance organisation (EASA DE.145.0318) and exchange programmes for gearboxes and carburettors. The nearest contact for major work on the engine.
Lockwood Aero
A Rotax service centre in Florida that has specialised in the 9 series for over 25 years. Interesting less for its parts shipping than for its training and troubleshooting videos, for example on diagnosing ignition problems.
Rotax-Owner.com
An operator community around Rotax engines with a technical forum, training videos and a bulletin overview. The forum and basic information are free; for the full content there is a subscription.

Certification and regulations

DULV – ultralight type data sheets
Database of the German Ultralight Association for type data sheets and supplements to the type certificate (EMZ). The type data sheet for the A22-LS is here too.

Flight reports and press

aerokurier – 600-kilo upgrade for the A22-LS
Report from September 2022 on the DULV granting the 600 kg approval, with some background on the manufacturer's production.
Pilot Magazine – Flight Test: Aeroprakt A-22 Foxbat
Detailed English-language flight test by Dave Unwin (2016): cabin, cockpit, take-off distance and the benign stall behaviour.
Australian Flying – A22LS Foxbat: Praktically Magic
Flight report by Steve Hitchen on the LSA version of the A22, focusing on visibility, control response and slow-flight characteristics.

Forums for the type

Aircraft Pilots – Aeroprakt / Foxbat sub-forum
A forum section devoted exclusively to the A22 with around 40 topics from ten years: tyres, brakes, engine variants, performance and comparisons with other types. English-language, quiet but dense in content.
Aeroprakt group on Facebook
International group of Aeroprakt owners sharing mainly modifications, equipment and operating experience. A Facebook account is required to read along.

Market and background

UL-Flugzeugmarkt – Aeroprakt A22
Market overview with current sales ads, price ranges by year of manufacture and a compact comparison of technical data.
Wikipedia – Aeroprakt A-22 Foxbat
History since 1996, an overview of all variants from the A-22 to the A-22LS and their place in the manufacturer's model family.

Collection as of August 2026. All links were checked when added.
